Hello All! This question has been asked previously but I have found nothing conclusive as to what the problem actually is. I have an Early 2015 13inch Macbook Pro. Since it’s older and the battery was no longer working properly, I purchased the iFixit battery replacement kit. After getting the battery replaced the computer turns on just fine, but now my keyboard and trackpad are unresponsive/unrecognized by the computer/etc. This problem, both a recognition of it and how to avoid it, is not mentioned at all in the iFixit manual. Some sites that I’ve found say this is a software issues, as in the computer needs to receive certain codes in order to recognize the keyboard and trackpad again. Others say its a hardware issue, or that something was damaged in the process and needs further internal work. Can anyone help me and any others who may have the same question? Thanks so much in advance! Dani

So lets see if we can isolate out what went wrong! First I would review the process of the guides we offer to make sure you did things in the correct order and hadn’t forgotten something in the process MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2015 SSD Replacement Did you disconnect the battery first?Did you forget to fully seat a cable and properly latch it?Inspect the connector contacts (both sides) did you damage any of the pins or the connector its self?Did you bend or damage the ribbon cables?Did you run the onboard diagnostics to see if they give an error code Restart your system and using an external keyboard (USB) press the D key to enter diagnostics.
