I replaced my battery about a week ago with an ifixit battery I purchased at Frys. Phone was working after for about a week except for Touch ID stopped working, but then last night it started rebooting itself every minute or so. When it boots back up it is very slow at first. For example if I open messages it will open to a blank screen for about 30 seconds then messages will finally pop up, but then the phone will reboot itself again about 30 seconds later. I did however notice that if I leave the phone alone and don’t use it, it does not reboot, it stays powered on. The screen is off, but when I press the button the screen comes on then goes back off but does not reboot. I put the original battery back in and thought everything was good until I went to use it and it was powered off. I tried to turn it back on and got the black screen showing dead battery and charge cable so I plugged it in and it turned back on and battery was at 60%. Went to sleep and woke up to same thing, phone off plugged it in and came back on and battery was at 50%. Keeps doing that but shut offs are random, sometimes within a few minutes sometimes a lot longer, but is fine when plugged in. Sometimes battery will be at about 70% then it shuts off and I plug in and when it comes back on it’s at 10%. Tried ifixit battery again and back to reboot every minute. Anyone have any idea what’s going on?
What was wrong with the old battery? Just draining fast or was it the same random rebooting issue?
Have you checked your clock perchance? (if it’s not set to automatic) Otherwise, you may have damaged something on the phone while replacing the battery.
