I opened the case and replaced the battery. The hold switch was locked but somehow at the end it was unlocked - **would this have caused the problem? The iPod comes on but doesn’t respond to button push or scrolling. Sometimes it won’t wake up but does wake when the power cable is inserted. However, it doesn’t show as charging. Any ideas as to what to replace next or why this is happening? It was working before except the battery wouldn’t hold a charge.
Simply open the ipod and verify that every thing is connected properly. Use this repair page as a guide.
