Hey there, I recently recovered my phone from heavy water damage. Cleaned the whole inside with isopropyl, and had to replace my battery due to being saturated in water. I replaced it with BG920ABE (i believe i’ll have to double check) which was abit different from my original battery model. So my phone worked for awhile pretty well, except my normal incall microphone was abit soft and my gyroscope and a few other sensors of the phone didn’t work, (like gps navigation direction, heartbeat sensor, screen orientation). My current issue now is when i charge my phone with the original charger, its starting to have battery drain issues, it switches to a fast drain, then when i turn it on again it goes back to the ACTUAL battery percentage. Its as if its having trouble determining the battery life and as of right now the phones not turning on. I would like to know how i can repair the sensors and if i should replace my battery again with the actual model. Thanks!
I have a s6 edge 925t recovered from water damage with similar problems, It seems to discharge quickly even when powered off. Replaced bat. I noticed a lot of corrosion around the battery connector on the motherboard, and cleaned as best I could with ipa, ultrasonic cleaner, and tried reflowing the connectors in the area. You really need to get out the microscope or magnifying lens with light and look over the whole board closely to see any possible bridged connections or loose connections. Also check the pins on the flex cables and connectors. Mine worked fine for awhile but now back to discharging the battery when powered off. any input appreciated
water damage is very tricky, you might consider a cleaning solution versus alcohol, also if it was salt water warm water mixed the the highest percentage alcohol works well. but i would also agree on replacing the battery with a oem battery and removing all service panels on mother board to access all of the board that could be water logged still.
