So I got this Tv off the side of the road in my neighborhood. Nice 55 inch Samsung (UN55JS850DFXZA). I have since replaced both the main board and the psu board but I still get the red light with clicking sound. I’ve tested the standby volts on the psu board to the best of my ability and its a solid 8v then it jumps to 13v then back down to 8v. I assume the 13v is the tv trying to turn on. I also tested the volts of the cable that goes to the main board and they all match up to the legend on the board. If I leave it all plugged together I get the red light and clicking sound and also I get 2 little blue light’s on the t-con. If I unplug the main board from the PSU and the t-con board the back-light will come on but no 2 blue lights on t-con. If I plug the main board back in the light goes out. I’ve tested the capacitors and they seam to be within working spec’s. Would anything else cause the tv to red light and keep clicking. No sound or picture ever comes on. Could the new main board I got be faulty as-well. Is there a good way to test your main board? I bought the exact same cards to switch out with so I don’t believe I have a wrong part in. Could it be the power cable I had to use one from a different Samsung tv. It fit perfect but maybe its just not quite right or it dosent carry the power needed. I’m not super sure on that one. Could a cable that goes from chip to chip be worn out??? If you need/want anymore pic’s or videos or want me to try something let me know and ill give it and go and get them up. Even if we gota start from step one I’m ok with whatever. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!!!!
@kamahl_ it definitely is not the power cable. Your backlight should come on when you disconnect the power board from the main board. there is no reason the disconnect the T-con board. Not sure why you did that. Try it with the T-con board on. Also I am not sure about your stby voltage. Since you already replaced the power and the main board it stands to reason that the error can now only be in the ribbon cables, the t-con board or the LCD driver board that is directly connected to your TV panel.
