Chosen Solution
So I have read that there are different kind of Red Rings of Death. Each one represented by how many of the led lights are actually on. On my 360 two lights come on when I play a game for a little bit it will just automatically shut itself off and when I restart it I get a message on my screen say that it something about overheating and to make sure your 360 isnt near a heat source or in a closed in environment. Well mine isnt but I still have the issue. I would like to know what the issue is and what I need to fix it myself.
How old is your Xbox? If you have had it for awhile, then it is possible that there is dust inside making it over heat. Like any electronic device over time they get dusty inside.
Try cleaning it out and see if you are still getting this issue. Try this.
Yeah, my Xbox is past it’s 4 year warrant, and I have two of them. My Zephyr model, and my Atache model. My Zephyr is in open space, but it gets two lights. My Atache wont read discs. Just stick with the one that is missing one function. And it’s cheaper to buy games onto the console anyway. But if you ever get three lights, don’t do the quarter trick, it won’t work on certain models. Whatever model you have. My Zephyr wont use the quarter trick and I want to play Black Ops 2.
