When I turn on my XBox 360 (newer version) the green light in the middle of the circle comes on for about 5 seconds then turns red. There are NO red ring lights around the edge of the silver button, ONLY the red dot in the middle. I took the hard drive out and put it back in, that did nothing. The power supply has a green light. I also tried two other HDMI cables and still nothing. Does anyone know what the red dot without any red ring lights means?

The dot just doesn’t do. I tried all the methods ever possible to fix the RED DOT…… I even talked to an ambassador of Xbox live. Still no clue. Instead my Xbox I constantly giving out heat but there is STILL THE RED DOT
You took out the hard drive but you need to gently bang it on something . there’s probably dust in it it works for me.
I have the exact same problem, it happened once and I took out the hdmi port out and it was able to stay with a green light. After some time letting it on, I placed the hdmi port and I could play just fine. It happened to me again today and I’ve tried other things to do and also what I did last time but it isn’t working, I just hope this suggestion can help a little like it did to me once
