So I dropped my phone in snow in Budapest on 16/01/18, I didn’t think it would have got in because of the way it landed (I still don’t think it did), nothing happened until 29/01/18 when I was in Innsbruck, I went to charge it and it started charging, once full I unplugged it and went to charge my IPad, the IPad wouldn’t charge (it was undamaged), so I tried my phone again to make sure it wasn’t the wire or plug, my phone wouldn’t charge either, tried multiple cords, plugs, and sockets, nothing happened Due to the fact that both the IPad and Phone stopped charging within seconds of each other I wonder if it could have been a power surge or something??? iPhone could have been water damage I’m not sure, but it seems a bit suspicious to have 2 stop charging at same time. iPhone is completely dead, didn’t have iCloud setup (silly me), and I was wondering if there was any internal memory chip that stores the photos that could be undamaged? If so, anyway to access such a thing?
@easykill possible that this was caused by water damage due to the snow. Since you are having issues with two devices, try a new know-well cable and a good AC wall charger. If there is still no sign of life, there is no way to retrieve your pictures or anything else. You will need to have the phone turn on o do any kid of recover. You’ll get a lot of answers about software etc. but be aware that there is no software solution to a dead phone. Send it to somebody in your area that does board level repair. Those people can usually get it to a point where it will at least work long enough to recover your files. Check with @refectio and see what he thinks. He is the local iPhone guru
