Hi - I have a Pixel 3 that just died the other day. The screen is black and unresponsive (it looks to me like it is off) and plugging it into a charger doesn’t change anything (i.e. still just black). I have some data on the phone that is not backed up that I’d like to get access to. I’m not interested in repairing the phone. Is there any recommended methods of doing so? I see a motherboard teardown which gets me close to the SD card, but I think it is soldered onto the motherboard? Is there a way to get access to it?
either the motherboard needs repaired or the main chips need transferred to another working motherboard, its not an easy repair and its not a repair that can be done by just anyone, its a specialised microsoldering job
As @tech_ni mentioned, it would be worth your time to try disconnecting the battery. My niece brought her Pixel 4 to me when it looked dead; like yours, no signs of life whatsoever. I opened it up, disconnected the battery and spent the next half hour checking everything I could. No luck finding the problem, so imagine my surprise when I plugged the battery back in and it booted up like nothing was ever wrong with it! Still have no explanation, but it appears the simple act of unplugging the battery brought it back to life; that’s literally all I did. Worth a try.
