Chosen Solution

Hi I have an s6 edge, it’s had a full display replacement, which was working perfectly. About 5 months on, the ‘recent apps’ button has stopped lighting up but still responds to touch. I’ve googled most common answer was power saving mode, but that is for both button lights. This is only the recent apps light. I downloaded the Galaxy lights app, which didn’t work either. I suspect this is just a defective light, but was wondering if it could be something more simple that I’ve missed in settings or something. Running 6.0.1

I actually just got done spending almost a whole day trying to solve this on a phone I was working on. The buttons are attached to a daughterboard via a very small connection. It was extremely easy for the connection to come loose. I tried swapping out the daughterboard and even that didn’t fix it. My best guess is that there is a filter or diode somewhere on the board for each button and if the button’s connection wiggles loose, that filter/diode blows. Its just a guess, but I can promise its not software or the hardware buttons or daughterboard.
