Chosen Solution
iPhone 6 came in with purple vertical lines when choosing the rear cam. Changed it with spare, went all black afterwards. Ordered a new rear camera part from Ifixit, Same problem! Black! Front camera works fine, and by hitting the Change camera icon several times I get the purple artifact on the rear cam. Now I’m thinking this is a board issue, so before I start with the micro tweezers I thought I should ask if someone in the community has encountered this before? I have checked if the screws holding the LCD connector cover have been put in the wrong nut standoff and penetrated the motherboard, but no luck there! Cheers!
Hi, After doing som diagnistic I found that the problem was related to PP2V85_RCAM_VDD. When I got the red lines this voltage was alternating. When the cam was black this voltage was zero. I changed the LDO U2301 without any change. So my guess is there is something wrong with the enable signal to the LDO from the A6. This is a straight trace without any vias, so monetoring this signal is difficult. This phone was not worth any more fault finding, so I have not got a 100% answer for the problem, but the 2.8 voltage was not present when the rcam was black so this signal path is my best guess;)
