With 500 MB left, I recently bought an OWC Aura Pro x2 for my Macbook Pro Retina 15” Mid 2015 because I was poor enough to buy a 250GB one. So I created a bootable copy on my external HDD with CCC and booted from that and upgraded to Big Sur on that external HDDs copy. I did that because I simply can’t erase anything on my computer and am running Sierra which doesn’t go well with the Aura Pro x2 from what I’ve heard. I switched to the Aura Pro and it showed up as a harddrive, booted from the external HDD and tried to clone from the External HDD to the Aura, but ”got macOS is reporting read or write issues on OWC aura pro x2. Every user has read/write access to the Aura, and I tried running CCC with sudo command to be sure but it still didn’t really work. It got about halfway through and stopped. I restarted the computer and the cloning and actually got through, with the only error ”reading or writing to the destination file ”volumes/owc aura pro x2/ private/var/audit/20200813151545.(then more numbers)” It still showed up as a harddrive, but when trying to delete/move folders to/from owc i got error -50. When running disk utility control i get error -69673. When trying to reboot with opt cmd R i get to where i can choose reinstall macOS, but its Sierra and doesn’t work with OWC. I thought about making a time machine backup and restoring from that, but I thought I’d ask here first. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve since put my old internal HDD in.

Did you format the new drive?
