Anyone know how I can reinstall raw image support for snow leopard (problem existed in leopard also)? For some reason on my laptop when I open files from my canon xsi I get strange colors randomly on some pictures (it changes every time). Yet I can take the same exact pictures to my imac and they look fine (I can open them up on my xp machine and the look ok also) Below is an example of the raw file and jpg. http://www.toddwoolums.com/imageproblem/http://www.toddwoolums.com/imageproblem/… Thanks in advance

I don’t think it is a raw support issue. If I download that CR2 raw file I get the same scrambled image, load it into Lightroom, and for a moment it previews the file correctly (and looking in finder the jpeg preview is fine), but the RAW file itself is corrupted. When you are opening them on the XP or iMac are you actually opening them, or just viewing the JPEG preview? I think you are just seeing the JPEG preview embeded in the raw file, but not actually viewing the file corrupted file itself. I think you could have a bad card and it’s corrupting your RAW files. Try formatting the card and see if it is any better. Or if it is a no name card, I’d invest in a Lexar or Sandisk card. I’ve always stuck to Sandisk cards over the last few years, various cards, never had any corrupted images.

It looks like the Canon DPP software was updated 10/18/2009: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro… You might also see if the images open properly using the built in OS X Image Capture app. I know the Canon 5D Mk II RAW files will open successfully under Snow Leopard (fresh install) - perhaps some corruption came across when you did the upgrade install of SL? If you reinstall Snow Leopard over itself, it automatically does an archive install, which may also resolve your issue. Good Luck!
