Hi Mayer, I’m having unexpected shut downs on my Mac 3,1 all of a sudden. Started while rendering in Adobe Premiere, now all the time. Did your machines’ fans speed up after shut down or is that something overheating. Should I go ahead a try replacing the power supply unit?
Archie, I switched this to your own question so I could give it closer attention. Please tell me your exact MacPro machine. My experience has been an escalating frequency of restarts with a failing power supply. Your problem sounds different.
