It is absolutely possible. You need to be extremely careful handling display while taking apart though. Make sure that the Display LVDs, Power and Sensor cables are detached carefully. Also make sure that you pull the logic board out gently and without having electrostatic in your body. Once the logic board comes out, the video card is detachable from the logic board slot once the onboard 2 screws and 1 tail screw is removed. The video chip is secured by 4 screws. Get them out, clean the leftover thermal grease, place the chip, put the new thermal grease on it and secure it carefully. Reassemble your Mac very carefully. This is quite a fun and risky at the same time. That’s it.
Musa, have you tried this? I am considering doing the same thing. I did hear that the location of the screws of the heatsink are a bit different though. But maybe you didn’t have a problem or found a workaround?
