So I’ve noticed that my barely months old DS4 has been behaving strangely in regards to my R1 button. Sometimes - not all the time, but sometimes (particularly in games like Warframe and Neverwinter, where R1 is/can be mapped to a quick action) pressing R1 will have the game respond as though I’ve pressed it twice very quickly. R1 is the only button that does this as far as I can tell, the button isn’t loose, and I’ve been treating the controller like it’s gonna break ever since I bought it, since it was a purchase to replace a different controller that also broke on me. One of the screws stripped on me (the screwdriver was the right size too, I made sure) so I can’t open it up to see if there’s something gone wrong inside. Beyond buying a whole new controller, I was wondering if there’s anything I can do to fix this? I don’t have the money to buy yet another new controller - these things cost a fortune, and I refuse to buy one used.
Seven Lexar , Perhaps you would like to try returning under warranty for replacement at the bottom link. If not wanting to return you may have to carefully use a power drill with small metal bit to drill the head off screw and once apart remove remaining screw out with pliers/ small vice grips. Perhaps parts from one of your old controllers will suffice. 1st link will show how to access buttons so you can check for dust/debri/etc. and clean. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button. DualShock 4 Buttons Replacement https://support.us.playstation.com/artic…
