R Button Is Held Down Permanently Psp 1000

Hey, So the main problem with the psp is that the R button is held down permanently. Not physically as the button can be pressed and it releases but when I switch off the console and switch it back on the configuration settings pop up which happens when you hold down the R button at the booting screen. Any advice? Thanks Manny

Maybe, try to change the flex cable, responding for R trigger, if it is not a physical problem?
