Chosen Solution
I just switched out my dead logic board on my Macbook Pro 13” mid 2012. Everything seems to be working but some keys in the keyboard are not. Specifically, QWERTYUIO [ ] = and the power button. Oddly enough P works fine. I have tried everything I found here. I can’t reset PRAM or SMC because both require buttons on the keypad that aren’t working. Are there other solutions that aren’t already listed here on ifixit? By the way, the keyboard was working fine before the logic board died. I don’t think it’s the logic board based on everything I’ve read here. I know there is a solution but, for the life of me, I can’t find one. Please help. Thanks, John Two more photos:
Edited: Here is a photo of the ribbon. I’m pretty sure it’s connected correctly.
Is an external USB keyboard works ? Check if the keyboard ribbon cable is well inserted into the connector, also look carefully at the connector and the cable end. Also verify the keyboard connector area for missing or damaged capacitors or resistors or corrosion in the area. Good luck :-)
