Been having issues with low volume during calls, and also being heard. Have tried gently cleaning the earphone and speakers meshes with a brush, with no improvement. Using a fine brush with a drop of isopropyl alcohol on it seems to have worked a bit better, but it’s still not sounding loud enough. Might it be a good idea to clean the speaker meshes from the inside, or just replace them? If so, I can see procedures for replacing the speakers themselves on here - is it really obvious how to replace the mesh and gasket once the speaker is out, as it’s not detailed in the guides? Thanks in advance.

The speaker mesh can be easily replaced or cleaned once you get the ear speaker and front camera assembly removed. The mesh is just held in place by adhesive and can come off pretty easy. Here’s the guide to removing the front camera assembly. iPhone 7 Plus Front Camera and Sensor Cable Replacement hope this helps and best of luck! Also it might help to order a replacement front camera assembly in case you damage it or in some cases that cable is the reason why the speaker volume is so low.
