Chosen Solution Got this board and the black light doesn’t work and I’m assuming this missing component could be one of the faults and if it’s not then im sure it’s still a problem that there’s something missing. Help anyone? Definitely appreciated. JRH, the part your board is missing is reference designator L8300 which is a 220ohm inductor (ferrite bead ) in a 0805 package. I believe that the assumption is being made that it is a “solder blob” to bridge a component....
Chosen Solution Ok I got a used ipad 3 that was not reset or cleared when I got it a while back. I deleted there icloud from the iPad and put in mine. Now when I check on the apple web sight I can turn the activation lock on and off with my icloud account. So if I reset or upgrade will it ask for the original icloud account that set it up when it was new or will mine work...

Chosen Solution I put a PCIe blade SSD in it and it worked, what happened is that it gave me a black screen problem after I put it in. The system starts normally it is just that the screen is black you can even see the apple starting. I put the PCIe and the system started with Catalina but at the time of restarting to install Monterey it gave me that problem....
Chosen Solution when I plug the charger into the notebook, nothing happens at all. Not even the light for the power gives any indication that a power source is plugged in. What could be causing this? First thing i would try is a replacement charger. Second is the actual port itself. Which either may be worn or damaged. It looks like the DC in port on that board is soldered directly to the motherboard, so it’s more likely in my experience that wear could have disconnected any of the contacts between that port and the board itself....
Chosen Solution I recently replaced y iPhone 5s battery with a battery from ifixit.com. It seems to be working well but this evening it has taken so far 4 hours to go from a 0% charge to 86%. Is this considered slow? It seems pretty slow to me but I’m not sure. Would it just help to open the phone up again and clean it with 92%+ alcohol as I’ve read in other questions and answers?...

Is too %#*@ slow because of the 5400RPM HDD in order to use it for daily computing so I’m only using it as a monitor for my Late 2013 rMBP (target display mode). I really want a 4k display in my household and I’m seeing two options: buy another 4k monitor mod my iMac to add 4k screen I am aware that I cannot just replace the LCD with the 4k one because the 4k one has thicker cables which don’t fit my iMac motherboard connector....
Chosen Solution Hi, I noticed there did seem to be a video on how to replace the Galaxy S5 Camera glass cover. My brother in law replaced one a while back but the camera never focused right, so since I got my iFixit tool kit I decided to try and free up whatever glass was stuck inside and replace the cover. I tried almost everything from canned air to pushing a brush inside to bopping the phone to knock the glass loose that must have been inside, finally I took my fine angled tweezers and tried literally pushing the lens around by not touching the glass....

When I took my phone apart 1st time i didn’t realize I needed this f%#king tiny 5/32 flathead so I only replaced the battery and let it sit for about 2 days, I did NOT charge it or anything. It started at 73% and looked like it was draining OK gradually to about 62% - I can’t remember....
Chosen Solution i just took in a lenovo yoga 14, and it has a damaged usb socket. the SS+ socket adjacent to the power socket. has anybody replaced one of these? i’ve seen some lenovo laptops that have the DC-IN and that one USB port on a separate board, but it’s tough to tell in the teardown photos. i’ll just order a replacement socket and do the work, but if i can avoid opening it up just to determine what i need, that’ll save some time....
Chosen Solution i accidentally dropped my phone to a higher level, when i turn it on its not working, but when i charge it the charging indicator appear but still it will not on.. is this repairable:? Sounds like the battery connector may have gotten disconnected after the drop. You’ll need to get the phone opened and the ribbon cables reseated this usually fixes the problem.
Chosen Solution My Kindle Paperwhite only shows the text on the top half of the screen. When I press the screen at the bottom it flickers but nothing is shown. I can advance to the next page in an e-book, and it will continue displaying text as if I could see the missing portion on the bottom half of the screen. To be completely honest, Kindles are so inexpensive that you’re truly better off replacing the entire unit with a new one....

Jeff Green and Amadeu Costa it sure sounds like you will need a new LCD display. To replace it use something like this video. Replacement screens are widely available just do an online search to pick a vendor and product that is appealing to you.

Hey there, Touch not functioning could be due to the touch circuit damaged on the motherboard, You could have knocked off a component of the board which is important for touch to work while replacing or the new screen could be faulty itself....
