Replacing the battery solved the problem for me when my wife’s kindle had the same problem, but it was more expensive than buying another one! Chosen Solution I have replaced the battery, replaced the starter, the alternator checked out good. The car will only start when it is connected to a battery charger or jumper box. Once you turn it off it won’t start again. Could there be something draining the battery to keep it from turning over? Is it a new or used replacement battery!…use a DVM or multimeter across the battery terminals if you read 11 volts or less then the battery may be at fault if it reads 13....

If I put the old mic card back, it charges fine. If I unplug the big ribbon cable on the new mic board, it charges fine.
