Chosen Solution I have followed the guide (iPhone 4S Screen Replacement) to replacing the iPhone 4S display assembly. I believe I did it correctly except for one thing (the 1.5mm screw in step 18 seems to have been stripped on the way out so it is not securely replaced). Now the home button doesn’t work (it won’t depress unless I put a lot of pressure on it), and the screen doesn’t work either....

Your search will yield far better results since there may be more than one version for the display. You can download the maintenance guide for your computer from here. Once you have the computer apart and see the label on the back of the display panel, post an image of that label with your question....

So then I bought a new LCD but that didn’t solve the problem. I bought a new logic board for it. And I don’t understand why it’s still not turning on. My computer recognizes it when it’s plugged in. I tried a rough twisting the parts together but no luck. I’m not sure if there is a specific method needed, maybe someone has tried with other earphones? Chosen Solution My MacBook Pro 17" Unibody is flashing solid black either very fast or it will last 5-7 seconds and I will hear the hard drive restart and I’m back where I was at. At times it can be set off by simply moving the laptop. Applying pressure above the top set of buttons. (Pressing down makes it go black and when I lift fingers off the screen comes back on) Lifting the laptop up also makes it go off for 5-7 seconds....

You can either invest in some tools and replace the display or you can take it to a local shop and have then replace it. Not very many options.
