Chosen Solution I am trying to fix a Late 2012 MacBook Pro 13” retina that will not turn on with the power button, and the MagSafe charger does not light up. I have tried the charger with another MacBook and it works fine and I tried another charger and the MacBook will not charge. I tried resetting the SMC with no results. I took off the back of the computer and found a water damage indicator that was red on the MagSafe DC board but no other water damage indicator was tripped....

Chosen Solution UPDATE: thank you for all your responses we determine that it was the side brush motor. Ordered a new side brush motor and No More Squealing! YAY Again, thank you all for your help My 4 year old 880 has starting squealing/screaming while running. I’ve cleaned everything but still scrams. I’m afraid it’s the motor, any suggestions It’s probably the motor, if you’re an expert, you should take it apart - but for most of the time you should ask the previous owner, or company if they can fix it....

Chosen Solution I have the opportunity to get hold of some A1706/A1707/A1708 keyboards, and was wondering if anyone has replaced the keyboard on this model yet? There is not a really high demand for the newer models yet in the UK, but seeing as how the 12" UK keyboards are now being sold for £120+, I want to get them while they are cheap :) I’m hesitant since the Touch Bar models have a chip on the logic board which communicates with the Touch Bar (I assume it is linked similar to Touch ID on iPhones, in the sense that it has to be programmed when changed), and I am not sure if it IDs the keyboard in any way, due to the newer Retina keyboards having ICs on the back....

Chosen Solution My Apple iPhone 3GS 16gb “died” on me after I plugged it in to charge. After much rebooting, examination and wailing, I finally gave in and went to my local Apple store. After confirming I had not got it wet, they told me the problem was slight separation between the silver/chrome surround and the back cover near to the docking port. This is fatal by all accounts. I was offered a new replacement for a reasonable price but at the time I couldn’t afford it....

Chosen Solution I replaced the lightning port connector on an iPhone X and now one of the rear cameras doesn’t turn on. Also the flashlight function doesn’t work but when you take a photo flash turns on. Sounds like the connection is bad or you may have a torn flex. Reverse back on your assembly of the device to see what may have been damaged.

Chosen Solution A few weeks ago the rear camera stopped working on my Nexus 5. I tried several resets (both soft and hard) and even flashing older system images, to no avail (ironically, after a hard reset and an image flash the camera app disappears). I decided to buy a new camera module to see if that would fix it. Now, with that installed, I managed to get the camera app back up, but it says that there is no rear facing camera on the device....

Chosen Solution Have a MacBook mid 2011 that got wine spilled over it a couple of years ago, all works except the dot and comma keys, they do work sometimes but mostly not. Wifey have the computer now and she demands a fix. I also have a late 2010 model that I use for parts, can I use the keyboard from the 2010 in the 2011 model? The newer one have backlight, the old one not but we can live without that, any other known issues?...

Chosen Solution A couple months back I dropped my M8 from shopping-cart height onto the hard store floor. It fell flat on its face (no corner impact), and I was ecstatic to pick it up unharmed – yay case! But, a couple weeks later, the screen began to warp up, indicating the battery was beginning to bloat, so, not undamaged after all. By the time the replacement battery arrived, the bloat was fairly significant, and, despite following the teardown instructions carefully (especially where it said “be careful, we tore the ribbon cable so you don’t have to”), I still managed to tear the tiny, 1/4"-wide, tissue-paper- thin section of ribbon connecting the screen....

Chosen Solution Hello, So I tried to repair an iphone 4s with some sort of “bootloop”. It restarts every 3 seconds… ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/djk0eclmz4ognz… ). I changed the Dock connector, I tried a new battery and tried to restore with DFU (error 4005). Tried Restoring IPSW with redsn0w. No luck.. Chosen Solution where does the rubber band attach to make the drawer open Usually you’d have to take it apart, and maybe look up similar models to your electronic cash register drawer and maybe pictures online will show where the rubber band goes.

Chosen Solution @motork Can this be a software or other “simple” failure? Nope. this is a board error. By the distribution of it my first suspect is the main board. Of course the cables are always another option. You would have to remove the back cover from your TV and let us see the boards. Post some good pictures of those with your QUESTION. (You will have to do an EDIT to do that....

Chosen Solution Hi! I’ve got a problem, and i hope someone can help me out. Since a few weeks, my MacBook Pro (mid 2012 version) has the following issue. All of a sudden the screen freezes, after a few seconds bar code like black bars show on the screen (see picture), and then it shuts down. Most of the time it immediately restarts automatically after this happened. In the beginning (a few months ago) it happened only once every 3 weeks or so, but in the last 2 weeks it has happened several times a day....

Chosen Solution Can I simply put my internal HDD from my recently broken Xbox X into a brand new Xbox X console without having to format or hack the HDD? Or is each internal HDD specifically locked to the hardware/console in which it was manufactured? I mean, if someone sends their Xbox in for repair and their HDD is dead, doesn’t msft just slap in a new internal HDD? Or do they have to code it to work on that specific console?...
