Chosen Solution I have an ASUS Zenbook UX31E. I believe the motherboard shorted out and need to replace. I know the 31E and 31A used the same frame. If I got the 31A motherboard would it fit/work with the remaining hardware of the E? It would probably work, if it is exactly the same shape and size.

I have reseated all the connections with no change Most likely a yucky connector or bad display. I would try to clean the display connectors with some isopropyl alcohol and if that doesn’t work then it is most likely the display

After building it all together again I find the backlight for the keyboard is very bright near the center compared to the rest of the keyboard. Chosen Solution Hi, I am facing an issue with my device, wherein, whenever I lock the screen, it turns black. I then have to press power button and somehow switch off the phone . The phone works as usual after boot but, the moment the screen is locked, same thing happens again. Is it a software issue or screen is damaged? Please help. You can hear the programs in the background like skype and windows opening but the screen will not turn on help me @lazypersonguy attach an exteranl monitor and see if that displays properly. If it does you know you are having issues with either your LCD or the backlight circuitry. Shine a flashlight at an angle against the screen with the computer running in a dark room....

Chosen Solution Hi, just tried to replace the front digitizer touchscreen on this device, however despite being able to source a digitizer it appears to be glued to the LCD via a clear double sided sheet and I have managed to destroy the LCD now :( so if anyone has any source for this part On the plus side it is pretty easy to remove the rear cover for access to the battery, just clipped to the bezel so gentle pying of the bezel outwards removes this if you work methodically....
