Chosen Solution Hi @poppypips, When a electronic component gets very hot it is an indication of excessive current flow. Check your work for any short circuits i.e. solder bridging between two connections when it shouldn’t be etc. Use a magnifying glass if you have to. Presumably you removed the battery before doing any further work inside the device? The power button is not a power isolating button so there is always power somewhere on the motherboard when the device is off....

Chosen Solution How to get sim card out of the. Phone Before doing anything, be sure that your battery is disconnected or pulled out of the phone. In trying to remove the jammed SIM you will want to be extremely cautious not to break off any of the golden colored pins that read the SIM. They stick up at a slight angle. If you can access the top part of the SIM reader then I usually use some fine tweezers - poke them slightly into the SIM card to “get a bite” and carefully work it out by using slight downward pressure and inching it out (or rather millimetering it out)....

Chosen Solution unit works when charger is connected but shuts down after a few minutes without it. battery indicates a full charge. full charge capacity 3542mAh cycle count 565. SMC reset no help. holding opt,cont,shift and power for 10 seonds turns the unit on when the instructions indicate power on is a separate step so i’m not sure it actually reset. Sad to say this battery has nothing left in it!...

Chosen Solution I just replaced the screen and everything was going great, but i had put the home button bracket on wrong so i opened the phone again. The screen worked great before i opened it again, but after i opened it up again and fixed the home button issue the screen started to glitch, then display white boxes on the top of the screen, then it faded to black. I thought it had just died, so i charged, but it still wont display anything....
