My Mac has been a machine and helped me out so much, but yesterday after unplugging a HDMI cable the screen has started to glitch, sections zoom in and out the perspective changes. bits of windows move about, after trying an SMC reset, a PRAM reset, re-formatting the HD and re installing the OS it still doesn’t work. Heres the catch on start up it all runs fine UNTILL I open adobe illustrator, potoshop, Lightroom etc....

Chosen Solution This macbook has old family photos and an old version of Quicken on it. I was not turning it off because I was afraid of not being able to get it on again. It was really hanging up so I foolishly restarted it and now I can’t get it up and running. It will turn on and “chime”, go to gray screen with apple logo and progress bar. Progress bar will start, go only for a half an inch and then bar will start over, go to half an inch of progress again and then laptop shuts off....
Chosen Solution My phone turned off at almost full battery. So i tried to see if it was something with the sim card. I took it out to look over it and check it out. i was putting it back in and i moved to fast and it fell in with out the tray. I have used small craft tweezers and I also tried using i needle and tooth pick. Any help is useful as i would not be able to get a new one at the moment....
Chosen Solution Every-time I start up the computer, the sleep light flashes 5 times, then starts up. I want to know why it does that because this only started when I did the reflow and now after, it just does it now. It takes an extra 4 seconds from until it chimes and I want to know how i can get it to not blink anymore. Apple says it’s a battery needing to be serviced and/or replaced....
Chosen Solution I know that it is not considered possible to add extra memory to a MacBook Air/Pro that has soldered memory chips. However, I am aware that some people have successfully managed to solder additional capacity memory chips on to a non upgradeable MacBook: https://hackaday.io/project/164191-macbo… I wouldn’t try to do this myself - certainly not with a heatgun and I don’t have the soldering skills to us an IR solder even if I had access to one....
Chosen Solution Simple battery replacement/update,… Battery installed fine, charges when AC power connected,…got up to 100% charge But then,…. Issue: As soon as AC is removed, laptop “dies/shuts off” Reinstalled previous battery = no issues Double checked that I have the right model number = battery model number is same on both old” and “new” battery —-> Any ideas what is going on? Chosen Solution I have a insignia NS-BBBT20 bluetooth radio and i accidently sprayed bug liquid in the hole where the cd goes does my radio have to dryout till tommorrow? Hi @gregy108 , Do not turn on the radio and then disconnect the power (and also remove the batteries if installed) to minimize any potential problems from occurring. The spray may leave a conductive residue (I don’t know if it will or not but play it safe) so the radio will have to be disassembled and the spray residue needs to be cleaned away using Isopropyl Alcohol 99%+ (available at electronics parts stores)....
Chosen Solution Driving down the road, pick up my phone to use it and boom nothing. Won’t turn on, won’t charge. My battery life has always been awful, so I figure it finally died for good. I take it into the Apple store for a second opinion, Genius points at charging port and shows that covering two of the terminals is evidence of a spark. She said there’s no way to fix it....

Chosen Solution I bought a used 80gb hard drive from ifixit and when I power up the iPod it says to connect to iTunes, when I do it says disk may be corrupted and suggests to restore. Chosen Solution How can I replacing the micro b with a type c? Hi @robanon81, There’s no point in doing this as it wouldn’t work. The USB-C has 24 pins whilst the USB 2.0 (micro USB) has only 5. The motherboard and USB controller on the board would not be set up for a type c. Also the pins that you could use in a type c to connect to the board would not line up with the board connections....
Chosen Solution Macbook Pro A1708 (year 2017): The retention clip for the battery test board flex cable snapped off on one end while I was trying to remove the flex cable. Can this be fixed? If so, how? I find the easies way to fix this is to get a replacement connector and carefully removing the folding latch to then snap onto the one on the logic board. I’ll need to dig up a new source as the one I had does’t have them presently....

In safe mode none of the options appeared to work such as rebuilding database and reinitialise internally or externally via USB install. Chosen Solution When I turn my laptop on, the fans start up and it sounds normal however the screen doesn’t turn on and the lights flash on the keyboard for a second then go off, the lights on the keyboard such as the caps lock and num lock don’t illuminate when pressed. Therefore if the keyboard is also not working I can’t use any of the usual fixes for a black screen issue on Toshiba laptops....
