Chosen Solution I have a laptop that appears to have been dropped. The screen bezel is cracked and the old display was flickering but faintly displayed the Windows OS. Whenever I hooked up an external display everything displayed correctly however. I took the PC apart and replaced the screen and now I only see the built in self test (red, green, blue colors sequentially display on the screen) It sounds like the hard drive is running however I can no longer see Windows and cannot get to the BIOS....

You may be able to tighten them sufficiently if they are just loose - maybe some threadlocker - info only to make sure that they stay fast....

Chosen Solution I’ve tried to understand the differences between Messages and iMessage on my desktop Mac. I really feels like Apple is avoiding a straight answer, they move the question to an iOS answer. I have no problem with Messages with Apple users on iPhones or iPads, but been unable to understand the gobbledygook that Apple is trying to feed me on trying to message with android users. Sorry Apple, not all users have the brilliance to use your products....

Chosen Solution So my son says he was using his laptop and out of a sudden was prompted to restart/shut down/etc. Eventually the computer shut down on its own and since then has not passed from the apple progress power up screen. Chosen Solution My 1992 Corvette (garage kept) wasn’t started for about 3 months. When I tried to start it, it cranked fine, but the engine showed no signs of starting. Chosen Solution I have the above-noted Mac Mini. All works well except the fan runs at 5000+ RPM all the time I suspect the thermal sensor is either bad or connected incorrectly to the system board. My questions is: Which of the 2 possible locations on the logic board are used if there is only a single HD in the system? Or, does it even matter? I bought this unit used, and there were other minor details about it that make me think whoever added/ replaced the HD was not careful in reassembly of the Mini - which is why I wonder about the possible misplaced sensor....

I currently have also a 2013 MacBook pro with a screen that works properly, could I use the screen from my 2013 and install it on the 2015? both are 15” retina displays Sorry you can’t, the displays between these series use different signaling. While both are similar in its connections the 2013 uses iDP while the 2015 uses eDP signaling....

Chosen Solution Screen hashed up with grey lines or spots. Apple on screen steady behind the spots Is this a video card problem and is it separate from the logic board and replaceable? First hook it up to an external monitor to confirm that it is the GPU. These can often be reflowed with a hot air work station. I have had about a 70% success rate doing this. There are also repair services offered on eBay....

You will have to disassemble it. Treat it just like you would treat any other liquid immersed phone. In general the first step is to stop continuing to try to charge, sync or otherwise use your phone....

Chosen Solution Hello, just received a new battery from the the ifixit EU store and it came with transparent plastic tabs on each individual part of the battery (that is in addition to the transparent plastic packaging of the whole battery). Does the TV operate normally when you use the TV’s control buttons, i.e. picture OK, audio OK, change Channels OK etc? The red Standby LED may be faulty although this would be unusual if the TV is working OK otherwise or perhaps if it is close to the TV’s IR (infra red) receiver for the remote control unit, they may be on the same board and perhaps a loose board cable connection may be the problem....

I have a bunch of LCDs I want to refurbish, the originals are simple because they use OCA which is just a sheet that peels off but LOCA is a lot harder and removing it is just a pain. Does anybody have any tips on what to use? I’ve refurbished more than a handful of LCD’s and I use a special “LOCA Remover” and a plastic razor blade that you can pick up on eBay....
