Chosen Solution I had two cords plugged into my Macbook Pro’s USB ports. It was lifted sideways, causing the cords to bend the ports. Both now only work if I push a cord down, which I assume is pushing the port’s pins back into the logic board. So I’m assuming they need to be soldered back into place, or possibly replaced. Has anyone done this repair? I just got this Macbook fixed, and now with these ports broken it really sucks....

Chosen Solution How to Reset Bios Netbook Asus Eee PC 1015B? where I can found original bios (bios first release)? To access the BIOS hold down the F2 key at boot. In there you can reset all your options. Chosen Solution Runs but does not get cold. Ices up on small copper tube above coils. Behind inside lower cover. Update (06/14/2022) The items in the list do not seem to be the answer. Coils are clean. Fans run. Compressor runs continuously. Ice forms on capillary tube before the evaporator coils. Evaporator coil does not get cold. Can’t be start relay or capacitor as the compressor runs. I don’t think it could be a thermistor doesn’t it turn off the compressor....

Chosen Solution Hi. I got two iPhone 6 and one iPhone 6 plus in for a repair. The problem is that the screen is dead but the phone is still on. The two iPhone 6 have been repaired before (screen replacement) but the iPhone 6 plus has not been repaired. I have tried new screens, but nothing. Disconnected the battery, and hold the power button, reattached battery and screen, still nothing....

Chosen Solution Tried going into settings and display to adjust sleep…nothing…goes to black screen every 5 seconds. Brought firsts one back to Walmart and exchanged it for another. This one is doing the same thing. Pat, You should not be having issues with a new tablet. If you have followed the charging instructions and tablet still doing this, return the Tablet as there could be a issue with this model. Perhaps try an upgrade to a different model as you may have better luck....

Chosen Solution Hello! I recently decided to replace the screen on my friends iPhone 8. I made the decision to buy a much cheaper screen replacement from a different website rather than Ifixit. The screen works great however the edges of the screen seem to be very raised, And are not smooth with the edge of the frame like the original screen. I’m sure I probably made a mistake buying the replacement screen from a cheaper website....

Chosen Solution My nitro has broken on the hinges of the display, causing my display to be 1/8th black with pink an green lines throughout it. I found the display on fixit but I’m searching for the actual housing for the display. Devon it sounds like you are saying you need the LCD top case. If that is correct I suggest you check places like this or even on here There are also plenty of other options listed on my least favorite site eBay....

Chosen Solution I have a Toro self propelled mower (rear wheel drive) that when I engage the transmission i hear grinding and the wheels wont propel. I removed the rear wheels and when i engaged the transmission both drive gears turned. The plastic gears on the wheels have rounded or beveled gear teeth. Should i try replacing the wheels or is there an adjustment i should try? The problem I had was that the wheel mounting plate was not parallel with the mower body....

Chosen Solution Hello, I would like to ask you about this issue with screen. Tiny approx. 1px wide stripes from top to bottom. In total 8 groups of 4 stripes (32 stripes). Visible only on grey background. On white, black, not visible, on other colors sometimes yes. Any idea what can be damaged? Any cable, or whole GPU? Chosen Solution The top part of the screen looked normal, the bottom half of the screen looked like it was faded. After an hour or so the whole picture went out. Not I have no video but the sound works. Any ideas what could be going on here? Shine a flash light (torch) on the screen to see if you can observe a valid picture. If you can then more than likely you have a backlight problem....

Chosen Solution I read on another site, a recommendation that the original HD cable on my late 2011 MacBook Pro 8,2 should be replaced with a 2012 model cable to enable full speed, wide data access to a fast new SSD. Has anyone tested this possibility? Almost correct! The data width is the same across SATA I, II & III interfaces, So thats not the issue. The issue is twofold: The first is the still older MacBook Pro’s had a SATA II cable design and was not able to support the higher data rate of a SATA III device (SSD’s more so)....

Chosen Solution I replaced the speakers on my 15" MBP 2015 yesterday, and when all done, I found this small silver colored sponge (see photo) had fallen off the logic board, but I’m not sure where it fell off. There were a couple of those on the board, apparently serving as some type of a cover over screw heads. But the material is curious, if it’s just a cover (why not just use rubber)....

Chosen Solution Recently, iFixit had diagnosed an issue with the 2011 iMac as being the dreaded GPU fault. Instead of replacing or reballing the card, I bought another used unit and switched drives, and I was back to work. I have since replaced the iMac with a Mac Pro, sold the replacement iMac and wanted to try and repair my original iMac. I did the disassembly and followed a guide to “bake” the video card....

Chosen Solution Yesterday, I was working in Autodesk Maya, and suddenly whole screen went black, so I did a hardware reset, by holding down the power button. After that the iMac doesn’t boot properly. It does the chime sound, then the apple logo with indicator and then just goes to a white screen. The keyboard doesn’t work as caps-lock light wont come on. I have tried the following: RAM reset (Cmd+Opt+P+R)SMC reset (unplugged power source for 2-3 hrs, held down power button for 10 sec)Removed ram cards and powered up, it did the SOS beep with 5 second intervals, so I’m guessing logic board is fineHolding down Option key during startup brings up the disk selector (I have 2 partitions one with Lion and one with Mountain Lion) neither boots up....

Chosen Solution When opening the lid of laptop it makes a loose crackling sound and now horizontal lines with black on the bottom of screen. Before I could wiggle the screen and it would be ok, but now black won’t go away. Any help would be appreciated. Please connect your PB to an external monitor and tell us if the video is normal or not. At first sight from your description there could be a problem with the LVDS cable or the LCD panel but to exclude the graphic processor failure we need a description of an external monitor view....

Chosen Solution I think I corrupted my MacBook Pro and can’t load MacOS Catalina from scratch. I accidentally got locked out of being able to run MacOS Utility on my new MacBook Pro so I can re-install Catalina. MacOS Utility security problems. I’ve tried everything short of the Genius Bar. I opened the new MacBook Pro right out of the box, started it up, decided to migrate my other older computer to this but lacked the proper cables to connect it and I interrupted the method I could do because it was super slow....

Chosen Solution So my issue I dont believe is my router. I feel like its my computer. Two days ago my laptop power died, shutting off my laptop. So I turned it back on.. and I see all of my wifi networks have one bar. Im not sure why. I tried to reset my router and modem, but I know its not that. My wifi works well on my phone. Unless im right infront of my routher, my internet wont have a strong signal....

Chosen Solution Ive seen that the common solution to any problems with the logic board is to just shell out cash for a new one. Replacing one is as easy as playing with LEGO blocks, but as expensing as buying half a Mac. Seeing as how this is a Fix It community, is there any way to dive deeper into logic board repair. Im looking to fix and replace a fried USB port, not plug in a whole new motherboard....
